If the water sample is turbid or colored, it can be treated by distillation or flocculation and sedimentation, referring to the national environmental protection standard HJ535-2009. 4. Determination of total phosphorus: As the content of arsenic in the water sample is greater than 2mg/L, there will be interference, which can be removed by sodium thiosulfate. Sulfide content greater than 2mg/L interferes, which can be removed by nitrogen gas under acidic conditions. Hexavalent chromium greater than 50mg/L interferes and is removed with sodium sulfite. Nitrite greater than 1mg/L interferes, and can be removed by oxidative digestion and sulfamic acid. The iron concentration is 20mg/L, which makes the result 5% lower; the copper concentration is 10mg/L and does not interfere; the fluoride is less than 70mg/L and does not interfere. 5. Determination of total nitrogen: there is interference when the chloride ion concentration is higher than 1.5g/L. Other common anions and cations have no interference. Chloride ions can be eliminated by mercuric sulfate. 6. If there are too many suspended solids in the water, it can be detected after filtration with a filter membrane.
