How to measure turbidity

by:BOQU     2023-04-08
The turbidity is measured by nephelometry, and the operation process is very simple. The user simply pours the water sample into the vial and places it in the sample chamber of the instrument, closes the light shield and starts the measurement. The following rules describe the necessary conditions for accurate measurements. 1. The instrument must be placed on a stable table to prevent tilting, and there is no strong light interference around it. 2. Before calibration or measurement, the water sample to be tested needs to be shaken sufficiently and evenly without air bubbles. If the sample has been sitting for more than 2 minutes, it needs to be mixed thoroughly again. 3. Before using the sample bottle to hold different water samples, it needs to be washed with distilled water*, and then washed 2 to 3 times with water samples. This is especially necessary for calibration. 4. For low turbidity samples less than 200NTU, the same sample bottle must be used for calibration or measurement to avoid errors caused by the sample bottle. 5. The outside of the sample bottle must be kept clean and dry. If there are fingerprints or water droplets, wipe it with a lint-free cloth to ensure that there is no residue. 6. If the sample bottle is slightly scratched, please wipe it gently with silicone oil. If it is serious, the sample bottle must be replaced. 7. When measuring or calibrating, the mark of the sample bottle must be aligned with the positioning arrow of the instrument, otherwise serious errors will occur in the measurement.
