Let's pay attention to the detection of chromium in water

Hexavalent chromium exists in the form of oxyacid, which is mainly orange in acidic solution and yellow in alkaline solution. So is it harmful to the human body? Is it okay not to test for hexavalent chromium in water? About the hazards of hexavalent chromium! Hexavalent chromium is an ingestion poison/inhalation poison, and skin contact may cause sensitization; it is likely to cause hereditary genetic defects and has a long-lasting danger to the environment. But these are the characteristics of hexavalent chromium, chromium metal, trivalent or tetravalent chromium do not have these toxicity. Hexavalent chromium is easily absorbed by the human body, and it can invade the human body through digestion, respiratory tract, skin and mucous membranes. It has been reported that when breathing air containing different concentrations of chromic anhydride, there are varying degrees of hoarseness, nasal mucosal atrophy, and in severe cases, nasal septum perforation and bronchiectasis. When it invades through the digestive tract, it can cause vomiting and abdominal pain. Dermatitis and eczema can occur on skin penetration. More seriously, it can be life-threatening when exposed to or inhaled for a long-term or short-term. Excessive (more than 10ppm) hexavalent chromium has a lethal effect on aquatic organisms. Experiments have shown that hexavalent chromium in contaminated drinking water can be carcinogenic. Hexavalent chromium compounds are often used in electroplating, leather and other animals. After drinking water containing hexavalent chromium, hexavalent chromium will be absorbed by the cells of many tissues and organs in the body. Hexavalent chromium in water is so terrible, do you still say that there is no need to test it? The hexavalent chromium online analyzer uses acid oxidation, and the colorimetric determination of the characteristic chromogenic agent after masking the interfering ions. The pretreated water sample is injected into the colorimetric cell by the syringe pump, and then the masking agent is added to interfere with the influence of the substance, and then the pH of the solution is adjusted, and the characteristic chromogenic agent is added under the appropriate pH condition for color reaction. The degree of color change of the inner solution is proportional to the concentration of hexavalent chromium in the water sample. By measuring the color change of the solution, the content of hexavalent chromium in the water sample can be calculated. If the total chromium is to be measured, after the pretreatment, an oxidizing agent is added to the automatic line together to oxidize the chromium in various valence states into hexavalent chromium, and then the colorimetric determination is carried out.
