What principle does the total phosphorus detector use for testing?

by:BOQU     2022-01-08

The total phosphorus detector uses a high-brightness long-life cold light source and uses the microcomputer photoelectron colorimetric detection principle to replace the traditional visual colorimetric method, which eliminates human error and improves the measurement resolution. The analyzer is used in chemical medicine, industrial and mining enterprises, scientific research institutions, environmental monitoring institutions, sewage treatment plants and other units. It can effectively determine the total phosphorus content of industrial wastewater, domestic sewage, surface water, and groundwater.

The testing principle of total phosphorus detector:

The total phosphorus module is divided into two parts, one is the high temperature chemical digestion module, which is used to heat the digestion sample, and the second part is the analysis module, which is used to test the phosphate concentration.

During the digestion process, all phosphorus compounds in the valence state are converted into orthophosphate that can be photometrically analyzed. The reaction is based on the oxidation of phosphorus in other valence states to orthophosphate under acidic conditions, that is, PO43-. High temperature and high pressure conditions can greatly shorten the digestion time.

Using the molybdenum blue colorimetric method to test the concentration of orthophosphate: add molybdate to the sample, the chemical reaction makes the sample blue, use a photometer to sense the amount of color change, and then convert it into concentration. The whole process is carried out in an orderly manner under the control of the controller, so the operation safety is high.

Functional characteristics of total phosphorus detector:

1. Follow the national standard method: COD, total phosphorus, ammonia nitrogen, turbidity, nitrate, nitrite and other items strictly follow the national standard method.

2. Convenient operation and automatic process: support both colorimetric bottle and digestion tube detection modes, intelligently match the built-in standard curve; direct reading of concentration, support user-defined settings or calibration standard curves.

3. With data storage function and printing function: 1000 sets of test data can be stored for easy reference at any time, supporting data management software, statistical analysis can be exported at any time; support PC segment link, the instrument is powered by dry battery or external USB, digester Support 220V. Car cigarette lighter or rechargeable lithium battery power supply.

Working process of total phosphorus detector:

After the sample is filtered, it is pumped into the LFA reactor. In the LFA reactor, first, inject the acidic agent R1; then heat the mixed sample to 95°C to acidify all the inorganic phosphates into orthophosphate; then inject the oxidant R2 for UV digestion to oxidize the remaining organic phosphates After that, the microprocessor starts to add drugs in order. In order to cause the color reaction of P-PO4, first add the color reagent, and then add ascorbic acid to produce the blue substance. After thorough drug mixing and reaction, the analyzer measures this blue substance at 660nm. The concentration of the sample is calculated based on the correction factor stored in the analyzer.
