What should be paid attention to when using the turbidimeter

The turbidity meter calculates turbidity by measuring the degree of obstruction of insoluble particles in water to light transmission, that is to say, the turbidity meter measures the amount of light scattering by suspended particles of different sizes in the water body. Then the suspended solids contained in the water body mainly include sediment, algae and various microorganisms, etc. These suspended particles have many adverse effects on the water quality, so the measurement of turbidity is particularly important in order to strictly control the water quality. Sediment turbidimeters are widely used, mainly used in various industries such as water plants, wineries, pharmaceutical factories, power plants, food processing plants, and sewage treatment plants. Application of turbidity detector: 1. Sediment handling research: installed on the bottom of the water or on a buoy, the light emission measurement method is used to monitor the sediment handling process. The method of installing multiple instruments at different water depths can obtain the sediment content profile data. 2. Environmental assessment: more and more coastal projects now need to monitor the profile distribution information of sediment (suspended particles) during tidal and storm periods. OBS (Optical Reflectance Method) measurement is a relatively economical measurement method. The data obtained can be used to assess and monitor the impact of projects such as oil well construction, dredging, etc. on the environment. 3. Dredging monitoring: monitor around the dredging site, which can be used to monitor the turbidity impact of the dredging process on the water body. When the water turbidity reaches the preset value, an alarm indication will be issued. It is also possible to evaluate the impact of dredging on the environment by recording and analyzing data before and after dredging. Precautions for using the sediment turbidimeter: 1. The secondary meter generally does not need daily maintenance. When there is an obvious failure, please do not open it to repair it by yourself; 2. After turning on the power, the instrument should have a display. If there is no display or the display is not If it is normal, turn off the power immediately and check whether the power is normal; 3. The cable connector must be kept clean, and must not be exposed to moisture or water, otherwise the measurement will be inaccurate; 4. The electrode should be cleaned frequently to ensure that it is not polluted; 5. The electrode should be calibrated every once in a while; 6. During the period of water cut-off, make sure that the electrode is soaked in the liquid under test, otherwise its life will be shortened.
