How to deal with the failure of the turbidimeter

by:BOQU     2023-04-08
A turbidity meter is a device for measuring the turbidity of water. There are scattered light type, transmitted light type and transmission scattered light type, collectively referred to as optical turbidimeter. The principle is that when the light irradiates the liquid surface, there is a certain correlation between the ratio of the incident light intensity, transmitted light intensity, and scattered light intensity to each other and the turbidity of the water sample. By measuring the transmitted light intensity, scattered light intensity and The ratio of incident light intensity or transmitted light intensity to scattered light intensity is used to determine the turbidity of water samples. Optical turbidimeters are used in laboratories and are also used for automatic and continuous determination on site. Troubleshooting: 1. The power light of the turbidity meter is not on. The reason that the power light of the turbidity meter is not on may be due to contact with the power supply. This problem can be solved by reinstalling the power supply after checking the plug and socket. Another reason why the power light of the turbidity meter is not on is that the fuse inside the turbidity meter is blown, which requires the user to replace a new fuse for the turbidimeter, and a multimeter can be used to check it. 2. The reproducibility of the turbidity meter is low. In addition to the failure of the sample cup itself, there are two other possibilities for the low reproducibility of the turbidimeter. The position changes, and the other is that the amount of liquid taken in the sample cup is too different. The user can avoid this problem by accurately placing the sample cup and maintaining the liquid level in the sample cup when the turbidimeter is measuring. 3. The readings of the turbidity meter are unstable. The unstable readings of the turbidity meter are not necessarily caused by the turbidity meter itself. Improper operation can also lead to unstable readings of the turbidity meter. When there are many bubbles in the liquid measured by the turbidimeter, the measured value of the turbidimeter will be affected. Therefore, the measurement of the turbidimeter must wait for the bubbles in the aqueous solution sample to dissipate before proceeding. Another reason for the unstable readings of the turbidity meter is that when the aqueous solution is poured into the sample cup, there is a hanging cup, that is, there are liquid droplets in the cup chamber of the sample cup or water droplets on the outer wall of the sample cup, so that the scattering of light is affected. If there is interference, the turbidimeter cannot obtain accurate measurement results. The way to avoid it is to dry the sample cup of the turbidimeter with filter paper before measurement. 4. The turbidity meter shows overflow, and there are three situations in which the display overflows after installation, and the connection line between the sensor and the display meter is incorrect. 5. The error of the turbidity meter is large. The large error of the turbidity meter may be due to a large error in the previously calibrated curve, which requires the user to re-calibrate and calibrate the turbidimeter. In addition, the temperature of the solution measured by the turbidity meter is high, and water mist is generated on the sample cup, which will also cause large errors in the measurement results of the turbidimeter.
