The use process and elements of the online residual chlorine detector

It is used for waste water and water treatment in waterworks, drinking water distribution network, swimming pool, hospital, etc. It is matched with chlorine dioxide generator equipment, continuous measurement or automatic dosing control can be implemented. Simply put, the residual chlorine detector is an instrument for rapid detection of residual chlorine. The instrument is equivalent to a small spectrophotometer. After the water sample is reacted with a special reagent, the residual chlorine/total chlorine value is calculated by the spectrophotometric method. . The use process of the residual chlorine detector: 1. The factory setting range of the water quality analyzer is generally 2PPM. If you need to change it, please go to the CAL calibration menu to set it; 2. Before the first power on, you must first replace the diaphragm and electrolyte, and the electrolyte into the electrolyte cavity, and pour to the lower edge of the internal thread. 3. The inner diameter of the plug joint interface of the water inlet of the steady flow box is ¼"I.D., the outlet plug connector interface is ½ inner diameter"I.D. 4. If a new probe is installed, it needs to be stabilized for several hours to avoid too much error and inaccurate measurement. If the zero point or range needs to be calibrated, the probe must be soaked in pure water for 8 hours or used for 24 hours before the zero point or range can be calibrated. 5. The probe is based on the detection principle of a platinum electrode. Generally, the diaphragm and electrolyte need to be replaced every three to six months in tap water. If it is not replaced for a long time, a large amount of iron, manganese and other metals in the water will be deposited on the electrode, which will cause inaccurate measurement of the electrode. If there is not much electrolyte, the electrode will also be burned. 6. When the probe is cut off from the water, the power must be cut off. If the power is not cut off, the electrodes will easily burn out. Residual chlorine means that after the water has been chlorinated and disinfected, after a certain period of contact, it will consume part of the chlorine in addition to the action of bacteria, microorganisms, organic matter, and inorganic matter in the water. The remaining part of the chlorine is called residual chlorine. Several factors that affect the measurement of the online residual chlorine analyzer: 1. The pH value of the sample water The pH value of the sample water has a great influence on the measurement of residual chlorine, especially when the pH value is <5 or>10. 2. Temperature of sample water The temperature of sample water has a certain influence on the measurement of residual chlorine. It is generally believed that the measured value will increase by about 5 for every 1°C increase in temperature. The ideal water sample temperature should be between 15-20°C. 3. Ammonium chlorine concentration in sample water In practical application, it is sometimes found that the amount of chlorine added increases, but the residual chlorine in the sample water decreases, and when it increases again, the residual chlorine increases again. This is what we often call breakpoint chlorine addition. Usually this is caused by the high concentration of ammonia nitrogen in the water, and the chemical reaction between chlorine gas and ammonia nitrogen in the water to produce chlorine ammonia. 4. Pressure and flow rate Excessive pressure and too fast flow rate will cause the electrode to respond too late and reduce the measured value. If the pressure is too small and the flow rate is too slow, the hypochlorous acid in the sample water will not be replenished in time and the sensitivity will be reduced.
